Mt Ruapehu, Tongariro National Park

Mt Ruapehu, Tongariro National Park

Description: Mount Ruapehu is an active stratovolcano at the southern end of the Taupo Volcanic Zone within Tongariro National Park. There are two North Island's major skifields.
Ruapehu is one of the world's most active volcanoes and the largest active volcano in New Zealand. It is the highest mountain in North Island (2,797 m).
This picture I took from Desert Road early in the morning, it was just perfect timing - big luck.
