"A" class locomotive No. 428, Weka Pass Railway, Waikari

Description: Weka Pass Railway is historic rural railway using both vintage steam and diesel-electric locomotives. It is a totally voluntary organisation, whose members are dedicated to the preservation of New Zealand's rail heritage.

A class number 428 was built for New Zealand Rail in Thames, New Zealand in 1909. This is one of only two examples of this locomotive in existance and the only one in working steam condition. More information: www.wekapassrailway.co.nz
